I've always dreamed of visiting Kamchatka, but for some reason, it remained a distant dream for the longest time. That is, until June 2024, when I decided to move it to the 'planning department'. Building 'unreachable' dreams is definitely my hobby! It's so simple, it's almost funny.

For many years, I've been following a marine-research boat that occasionally takes tourists on its expeditions. This time, I stumbled upon yet another Instagram post inviting people on an 8-day expedition to Kamchatka to watch whales, seals and orcas.

Intriguing! But then I felt it would be a shame to spend a whole week in the Pacific when Kamchatka has so much more to offer.

Long story short, there are so many places in the world I've yet to step foot in and comparatively few I've visited, but Kamchatka, like Brazil and Sri Lanka, will always have a special corner in my heart. Below you can see why.
