Moving from the lush greenery of Sri Lanka to the sandy expanse of Dubai was quite the adjustment for me. Life in Sri Lanka was a world away from the hustle of what seems normal in the UAE, and I found myself longing for the familiar sights and sounds of hippie life.
I always took rain for granted. But here in Dubai, where rain is a rare and precious commodity, I came to truly appreciate its value. The sound of raindrops tapping against the window became music to my ears, and the sight of rain-washed streets filled me with a sense of nostalgia for home.
Luke knew just how to lift my spirits up, and his latest idea was no exception – a spontaneous trip to Sharjah after work, with a mission to collect every traffic jam imaginable along the way. But I guess we would do anything just to experience a proper downpour of rain again.

I was amazed by it – an extraordinary exhibit that allowed us to step into a storm without a single drop touching. We could twirl, dance, and wander through a rainstorm without a worry about getting wet (which I wouldn’t mind at all, actually).
