"Becoming local in Dubai" Part 5

Iri

So, it looks like this is the last installment of my "Becoming Local in Dubai" series. Time flies when you're settling into a new place, doesn't it? Here's what's been on my mind lately:

  • Sugar, sugar everywhere! Seriously, it seems like there's sugar or syrup added to everything. I can't help but wonder about the rate of diabetes diagnoses here.

  • Ah, the beauty of no income tax. It's not exactly breaking news, but it's definitely worth a mention.

  • As summer approaches, people seem to delight in telling me horror stories about the Middle Eastern heat. I get it, folks – it's going to be hot. No need to rub it in!

  • Plastic bags. They're everywhere, even if you're just buying a chocolate bar. Why is that? It's something that's been on my mind lately.

I guess as time goes on, the things that used to amaze me are becoming more and more normal. Dubai is starting to feel like home - ish, with all its quirks and surprises.

Thanks for following along on this journey with me. Who knows what adventures await next?

Catch you later.
